About this experience
Most desert trips end the moment dinner is cleared away and the coach heads back to the city. This one does the opposite: it keeps you out there. You do the full afternoon safari, dune bashing, the camel farm, sandboarding, watch the sun drop behind the dunes, and eat as the sky darkens, but instead of driving home you settle into your own tent while the desert empties out and the stars take over completely.
This is desert camping in Abu Dhabi at its fullest, the land at four distinct moments: the gold of late afternoon, the theatre of sunset, the hush of a star filled night, and the soft pink of dawn before breakfast. Every overnight is private, so it is your group's fire, your group's silence, and your own tent, not a shared dormitory tent shared with strangers. If a single evening always feels like it ends too soon, this is the fix.
How it unfolds
Private hotel pickup
Your own 4x4 and guide collect you, no sharing with another group.
Dune bashing
Ride the ridges toward camp at your own pace.
Camel farm & sandboarding
A camel farm stop and a slide down the dunes.
Sunset
Watch the sun disappear behind the sand.
BBQ dinner
Dinner served at your tent or majlis, entirely halal.
Campfire & stargazing
The desert empties and the sky fills with stars, often the Milky Way on clear nights.
Sleep in your tent
A full night under open sky, in your chosen tent style.
Sunrise & breakfast
Wake to first light, then a proper breakfast before the return.
Three tent styles, same overnight experience
Simple, comfortable and private under open sky, the easy-going choice.
A traditional black tent with a private sunset majlis dinner setting.
The heritage tent dressed with a red carpet majlis for a grander evening.

Questions about overnight safari & camping
How much does an overnight desert safari cost in Abu Dhabi?
From AED 780 per adult for the Pop-Up Tent, AED 889 for the Bedouin Tent, and AED 989 for the Bedouin Tent with a Royal Red Carpet setting. Every tier includes the full private safari, dinner, the tent and breakfast.
What is the difference between the evening safari and overnight desert camping?
The evening safari returns you to your hotel the same night after dinner and shows. Overnight desert camping adds the night itself, your own tent, stargazing, and a sunrise breakfast before the drive back the next morning.
Can you see stars during overnight desert camping near Abu Dhabi?
Yes, once the day visitors leave and the camp quietens, the desert sky away from city light is one of the clearest in the region, and the Milky Way is often visible on clear nights.
Is overnight desert camping private or shared with other groups?
It is private throughout, your own 4x4, guide and tent, not a shared dormitory setup. The Pop-Up Tent dines at a shared camp area, while the Bedouin options include a fully private majlis dinner.
Is overnight camping suitable for families with children?
Yes, the camp is staffed through the night and the tents are comfortable and secure, so it suits families, couples and groups of friends alike.
